Dr. Salim Khan is a visionary humanitarian, celebrated journalist, and social reformer whose life journey reflects compassion, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to public service. He began his career in the dynamic world of CNN News, where he became known for bringing powerful stories of courage and resilience to the forefront. After serving as Business Head in multiple Fortune 500 companies, he chose to leave the corporate world to dedicate himself fully to the service of humanity.
Driven by purpose, Dr. Khan launched his first major initiative—“One Meal a Day”, a year-long campaign that provided daily meals to the needy. He later introduced India’s first-ever “Food Ambulance”, delivering free, unlimited, nutritious meals on wheels to vulnerable communities. For eight years, he worked tirelessly for society even before registering his NGO, and in November 2020, he formally founded Little India Foundation under Section 8 as a not-for-profit organization.
Under his leadership, the foundation has grown into a nationwide movement impacting thousands of lives through hunger-relief programs, healthcare services, education initiatives, and women empowerment projects. His efforts include running health camps in rural areas, offering scholarships for underprivileged students, and organizing vocational training workshops for marginalized women.
Dr. Khan’s remarkable humanitarian impact has been widely recognized. He is a World Record Holder for serving over 2 million meals in 2018, and his pioneering social work has been featured in leading publications such as Forbes, The Times of India, Hindustan Times, and Business Today. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he distributed oxygen concentrators, PPE kits, medicines, sanitary pads, food, and essential supplies to thousands of families.
His commitment to philanthropy earned him multiple honors, including an Honorary Doctorate, the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Excellence Award, the Humanitarian Excellence Award, and recognition from Select CityWalk – The City Salutes You. In 2020, he was proudly nominated for the prestigious Padma Shri Award for his exceptional contribution to society.
Today, Dr. Salim Khan continues to inspire the nation as a changemaker, thought leader, and advocate for social justice. His life’s mission remains simple yet profound—to bring dignity, hope, and opportunity to every life he touches.
